Sailing behind Grenada the wind was light. Between the islands we saw confused seas and quite a bit of wind. It was a squally day and we got rain a few times - notice Zach is hiding inside while I'm out sailing in the rain! (OK it was my watch - he got lucky) Hooch and Zach stayed dry and warm.
We left St George at 7am and put the anchor down in Tyrell Bay at 3:30, with the last half hour motoring around the bay looking for a sandy spot to put down the anchor. We found one, thank goodness because it got nasty that night and the next morning was still raining and squally. The wind gusts were incredible and lasted a long time.

After the rain stopped we went for a hike to try to get to the top of one of the mountains. It took us about an hour to get almost to the top, Hooch and I were exhausted!
But we did find a good view of the anchorage, the picture isn't the best because it was a gray and gloomy day.
After our hike we went into town, which is small and mostly shut down for the day, but we found customs and ran into some friends.

In the morning we checked out the Oyster Beds/Mangrove lagoon. The Caribbean Oysters are supposed to be a delicacy here. We are skepticle, though they do seem to have good water flow, we still haven't tried them.
The mangroves were very big though, good for tying to in hurricane conditions and we saw several birds.
Our anchors, we were leaving the boat for the afternoon, so Zach dove on the anchors, which seem to be set well!
We met up with some friends and went to go find the Carriacou Sloop Boat Builders. It turned out to be in someones back yard on the North Eastern side of the island. Apparently it takes them six months to build a boat of large plank with epoxy filler. Zach talked to one of the guys for a while and he let him explore the boat they were working on.
There was a beautiful beach about a half hour walk away and we ate a picnic lunch and played in the surf!
We ended the day in our dingy with Hooch watching a moving being projected off the back of a trimaran. It was a good movie but the squalls started before it ended so we didn't get to finish it. Still fun!
